Nice to see more women are showin appreciation for the world's finest sports!!! Even if they do get it a bit wrong. Sorry Rozza! See you still aint got yr signature underlined yet.... oh well.

Anyway on Sky this morning I think the odds for World Cup winner was summat like this:

    FRANCE 4-1
    BRAZIL 6-1
    ITALY 8-1
there was another that I cant remember, maybe SPAIN or SWEDEN at 10-1 but then it had
    ENGLAND 12-1
    PORTUGAL 14-1
    GERMANY 16-1
I think that's right, summat like that.

and RUSSIA and another team was summat like 66-1. I wouldnt mind bein paid out on that un!!

It's a tough call, France have a good team but the reason the performed so well 4 years ago may be due to the fact that they were in their home country, so I dunno if it's accurate to say they're the best team in the world (?!). Over four years a lot of teams change as well although the Euro and Southern American tournaments refresh us with what each national side is like, there's still a 2 year gap between the tourneys. One point that shocked -I think- us all is that Holland never qualified!!!

In my opinion it's hard to put an accurate rating on any team cos who would've thought we'd beat Germany 5-1, especially after going down by a goal in the first 15 mins or so?! Ok so there are friendlies to help the teams but you cant really decide on that which are the better teams. Against Paraguay we might've been all over them but we had our bad spells and three of the four goals scored were, quite frankly, lucky!

Basically there has to be plenty of games played, i.e in a league. In the friendly against Italy, Sven put half the population of England on one after the other to see what his team options are like (hell I thought I was gonna get a game!!) and we lost by a penalty at the end. But by the way England played who can decide if we're a decent team or not. It's not til we see the strongest side play a series of games that we'll be able to answer that one.

    I think that's all.

    ;) One Eyed

If I had to make an educated guess I'd take a crack at Brazil, but like I said it's hard to say.

Yeah I lost it in a freak incident in which my eye got caught in the platter of one of the prototype Technics way back in the 80s.

I was actually er... lying. I have two eyes like most people. Dunno where the name comes from really, some people say it's because my one eye (down there) is such a memorable part of my body... though Im not one to gloat. Ask Sequoia (aka "The Donk") where his name, ahem, "stems" from. Horrible pun Donk, I know.
