Relinquished was very nearly YUGI's undoing in series one if my mind serves me well.....

    Cartoon...

The cartoon series has kiddy rules which do not relate to the real TCG game.

A Mystical Space Typhoon on the equipped monster first, or a Harpies Feather Duster will leave Relinquished bare. A direct attack will finish him off.

Also Brid, it was Thousand Eyes Restrict, the fusion of Relinquished with Thousand Eyes Idol, which proved a problem for Yugi. But really, Pegasus was cheating by using the Millennium Eye to read Yugi's mind, until they mind shuffled of course, swapping between identities, which prevented Pegasus from knowing the cards that Yugi held.

    Re: Re: Re: Yugioh Tournament

All jap/anime cartoons have always been edited like this by the PC americans. as far back as 'Battle of the Planets' or 'G-Force' as it was later known. All the violence was cut out the story and it would move back to 1-rover-1 telling the story along the lines of "once the villains awoke from being knocked unconcious" when in fact the fat green one had killed them. Same with 'the turtles' back in the late 80's. Over here it was "teenage mutant HERO turtles" instead of ninja - just incase some inpressionable kids decided to want to be a ninjas. Also nunchukas (sp) were also completely removed.

what a swizz. we were robbed.

    Report...

We both played well. I was beaten in the third round by the last tournaments winner. Phil lost to the kid who beat me last tourney.

One kid cried when I won, which made me feel crud.

    Overall, it was class!

December 21st is the next one.

    Let’s duel!

Out of interest, in the cartoon, why does Yugi go into "Masculine Mode" where his voice gets deeper, his hair changes etc., and he systematically destroys his opponent? Just cos i've only seen the program like 4 times, and found it somewhat odd, to say the least.

The cartoon is quite difficult to fathom ill agree... the card game is ace though,..... very strategic, like chess.

its about 10% top trumps... based loosely on it yeah, but much much deeper.

But it's still a kids game, right?
  20. Guest

30 somthings playing cards with children is a bit worrying.
